Sacrifice in the Bible & Christian Life

Sacrifice perplexes us today. It was central to the religion of the Bible and a joyful everyday experience for ancient people. Today, however, it conjures up sad and frightening images of violence and loss, because of a centuries-old distortion.

We will take a fresh look at the sacrifices of the Old Testament and their fulfillment in Christ. Then we'll consider how Christ’s sacrifice bears fruit in us today, in the offerings we make to God. Along the way, we'll see how sacrifice is a precious and meaningful gift, welcoming God into our lives.
